The Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education offers and ensures the training and professional training of Bachelor / Master degree students in the spirit of European values, humanistic traditions in accordance with current standards of scientific development and the demands of the internal and external labour market.

Primary education is the second link in the education system, whose basic characteristics are:

• provides basic training, the instrumental component of general culture (writing, reading, mathematical calculation);

• aims at the development of some components of the human personality: intelligence, curiosity, habits and moral habits, etc.

The Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education prepares students for Bachelor degree specialties: Pedagogy of Primary Education and the English Language, Pedagogy of Primary Education and Psychopedagogy, Pedagogy of Primary Education and Preschool Education, Pedagogy of Primary Education. Students develop relevant skills: designing learning activities, adapting and using different teaching / learning strategies, explaining and using them appropriately in professional communication of basic didactic and pedagogical concepts, theories and methods, evaluating children’s learning outcomes and their performance, effective communication with individuals or groups, the use of information technologies and their integration into learning environments, the ability to respond to the different learning needs of children / students, the ability to reflect on the value system (staff and group of students), managerial principles and technologies.

The department operates graduate studies of Master degree. The 2 year study programme Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, is a full-time programme of 120 credits and, respectively, 4 semesters. Master degree students in the field of Education Sciences acquire the necessary competencies for the fulfilment of teacher functions; continuous training and improvement of the qualification of teachers in primary education through the organization of advanced training courses in the nominated specialty. They can be included in pre-university education as teachers, managers in pre-university education, researchers in the field of education inspectors, trainers for parents, methodologists.

The Master degree programme Innovation Management and Educational Entrepreneurship focuses on training managers of the management act, who can meet the requirements of the Occupational Classifier of the Republic of Moldova (CORM 006-14), National Nomenclature of Qualifications and labour market needs. It is designed to develop innovative management and entrepreneurship skills, so that formal, non-formal and informal education corresponds to the social and technological dynamics of the 21st century, emphasizing not only social constructivism but also humanistic concepts of learning.

The Master degree programme Project Management in Educational and Research Organizations is based on the training of project managers and on the acquisition of specific techniques and tools for initiating, planning, monitoring, controlling and concluding projects. The study programme consists of designing and developing a project, the success of its implementation is determined by the correct use of methods, techniques and tools with which it operates and manages projects and ensures through a combined approach, theoretical and practical, the ability to manage, renew and strategically develop activity based on projects. Master degree students can continue their studies at cycle 3, which is carried out through scientific research activities in order to prepare highly qualified scientific staff in the field of Educational Sciences. These studies allow the acquisition of a level 8 qualification from the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the National Qualifications Framework.

II. Short history

The Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education began its activity in 1984, within the Faculty of Pedagogy of the State Pedagogical Institute “T. G. Shevchenko” in Tiraspol. From the day of its foundation until July 6, 1992, the department was headed by Valeriu Plângău, Doctor of Pedagogy Associate Professor.

In 1992, due to the political events that took place in the Republic of Moldova, the Tiraspol State University was evacuated to the city of Chișinău. The departments of the Faculty of Pedagogy were merged, being reorganized into the department of Pedagogy and General Methodologies, the head of the department being named Dumitru Şiman.

In 1994, a new reorganization of the departments took place, thus being divided into the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education and the Department of Preschool Pedagogy. Mr. V. Plângău is appointed head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, carrying it on until January, 2009.

In January-September 2009, the chair of the department was taken over by the dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Vasile Panico, Doctor of Pedagogy Associate Professor.

From September 2009 until January 2012, Vacarciuc Mariana, Doctor of Pedagogy, Associate Professor, held the position, then during February 2012-2017, the position of head of department went back to Vasile Panico, Doctor of Pedagogy Associate Professor. From 01.03.2017, the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education is led by Silvia Golubițchi, Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor. During this period, two Master degree programmes in InnovationManagement and Educational Entrepreneurship, and Project Management in Educational and Research Organizations were authorized.

From 01.03.2017, the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education is led by Silvia Golubițchi, Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor. During this period, two Master degree programmes in Innovation Management and Educational Entrepreneurship, and Project Management in Educational and Research Organizations were authorized.

Valeriu PLÂNGĂU,
PhD, Associate Professor

The first head of the department, Mr. Valeriu PLÂNGĂU, was born on March 25, 1939, in the village of Rotunda, district Edineț. After graduating from high school in the town of Edineț in 1956, he was admitted to the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the State Pedagogical Institute in Tiraspol “T. G. Shevchenko”, which he graduated in 1962. He started his professional activity in 1960 at the secondary school of general culture in the village of Bravicea, district Calarași. In the years 1962–1964 he was enrolled as an officer into the Soviet Army in the city of Mozir, R.S.S.B. (Belarus). During the years 1964–1981 he worked as a teacher of Mathematics and the Methodology of Teaching Mathematics at the Pedagogical School “N. K. Krupskaia” in the town of Calarași. Since 1981 he has been working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Methodology of Teaching Mathematics of the Pedagogical Institute „T. G. Shevchenko” in town Tiraspol. In 1984 he defended his doctoral thesis in Pedagogical Sciences with the topic “Ways of Achieving Interdisciplinary Relations in the Primary Cycle (Mathematics and Technological Education)” within the Research Institute in the Field of Pedagogy, the city of Kiev. During the years 1992-1994 he worked as head of the Department of Pedagogy and Preschool Education at the Institute of Continuing Education of Moldova (Chișinău). In 1994-2009 he held the position of head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

Dr. Valeriu Plângău carried out a series of additional activities: he edited 7 textbooks in the discipline “Mathematics” for grades 1-4, 8 collections of tests to assess mathematical knowledge for grades 1-4; 98 scientific-methodological articles.

Dr. Valeriu Plângău was a member of the Scientific Seminar for the defence of doctoral theses in Pedagogy, specialty 13.00.02 Pedagogy and Training Methodology, and in 2000 he was awarded the honorary title of “Emeritus Man”.

On January 7, 2012, he passed away and was buried in his native village.

Dumitru ȘIMAN,
PhD, Associate Professor

ȘIMAN Dumitru was born on November 8, 1928 in the village of Apşa de Mijloc, Rahovo, Transcarpathia. In 1935 -1943 he studied at the school in his native village, then between 1952 -1954 he studied at the Pedagogical School in Balți. In the years 1954 – 1958 he studied at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” in the city of Chișinău. In 1958 he started his pedagogical career in the village of Apşa de Jos, Tecev, Transcarpathia, where he worked as a Mathematics teacher until 1961. During 1962-1965, he worked as a lecturer at the Department of Geometry, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Pedagogical Institute “T. G. Şevcenco” in the city of Tiraspol, then since 1965 he would be working as a lecturer at various departments of the same educational institution. During 1984 -1992 he was a senior lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, and then between the years 1992-1993 he held the position of head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education. In 2001 he defended his doctoral thesis in pedagogical sciences with the topic: “Acquiring Mathematical Knowledge in the System”. Between the years 2002-2004 he worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education. Dr. Dumitru Siman taught the following educational disciplines: The Basics of Geometry, Analytical Geometry, Affine and Projective Geometry, Theory and Methodology of Mathematics in Primary Education. He has published 32 articles and 2 brochures in the field of Mathematics. In 1988 he was awarded the title of “Emeritus Man”, and in 1990 that of “Labour Veteran”.

Vasile PANICO,
PhD, University professor

A remarkable personality, who carries out his didactic and scientific activity in the department, Doctor in Pedagogy, the university professor Vasile PANICO, a native of the village of Cişmea, the district of Orhei, born on January 17, 1950. After graduating from high school in the town of Orhei, one year he worked as a labourer, and then in 1968 he continued his studies at the State Pedagogical Institute „T. G. Shevchenko” in Tiraspol, Faculty of Biology and Chemistry, which he graduated from with a mention in 1973. He started his pedagogical career as a school teacher in the village of Piatra, the district of Orhei, teaching Biology and Chemistry during 1973-1975. He was later enlisted in the Soviet Army (1975-1976). After doing his duty to the motherland, he returned to his alma-mater, working as an assistant professor at the Department of Pedagogy and General Psychology, teaching the discipline of General Pedagogy.

In 1980 he was admitted to the postgraduate studies of the Institute of General Pedagogy of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (Moscow), after which, in 1984, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Pedagogy with the topic “Research and Heuristic Methods as Means of Intellectual Education of Students”.

In 1983 he returned to Tiraspol, to the State Pedagogical Institute “T. G. Shevchenko” to hold the position of assistant professor, teaching the disciplines General Basics of Pedagogy, Theory of Education and Theory of Training, and in 1984 he became a senior lecturer and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy. In 1986 he was elected by competition into the position of head of the Department of Pedagogy and General Psychology, a position he would hold until 1992.

During 1992-1993 he held the position of the dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, and during 1993-1996 he was as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

Later on, during the years 1996-2016, he re-held the position of the dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy. At the same time during the years 2012-2017 he held the position of the head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

During the years of pedagogical activity carried out at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, he developed and taught the courses General Basics of Pedagogy, Theory and Methodology of Education, Theory and Methodology of Training, Theory and Methodology of Research, General Theoretical Foundations of Education, Training and Development Strategies of Learning Attitudes in Young School-Age Students.

In 1998-2000 he was president of the Commission for Coordination and Evaluation of the School Curriculum; is a member of two Profile Scientific Seminars in the specialty of General Pedagogy; is frequently invited as a member or official reviewer in the Specialized Scientific Councils for the defence of doctoral theses.

During his activity at the Tiraspol State University, Mr. Vasile Panico prepared and edited 96 scientific-methodological works. He is the author and co-author of 13 brochures and books, he participated in about 40 national and international scientific-methodological conferences, he trained 6 Doctors in Pedagogical Sciences. For high results in the professional training activity, in 2005 Dr. Vasile Panico was decorated with the medal “Civic Merit”.

He currently continues his activity as a university professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

Mariana VACARCIUC,
PhD, Associate Professor

In 2009-2012, the head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Educatio was Mariana VACARCIUC, Doctor, Associate Professor born on March 23, 1964 in the city of Balți. After graduating from high school in the same locality, she studied at the music college (1979-1983), then at the Faculty of Music Pedagogy of the Pedagogical Institute “Alecu Russo” in Balți (1983-1987). After graduating, she was assigned to the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, Faculty of Pedagogy of the Pedagogical Institute “Ion Creangă” in Chișinău (1987), teaching the subjects: Musical Instrument (piano), Methodology of Teaching Music, and Choir.

In the years 1998-2001 she did her postgraduate studies by doctorate, after which she successfully defended her doctoral thesis with the topic “Spiritual Development of Young School Children through Singing”. In 2004 she became an Associate Professor and develops new courses: Modern Educational Technologies, Music Psycho-pedagogy, School Music Repertoire, etc.

She is originally from the village of Sanatauca, district of Florești, born on January 1, 1978. During 1992-1997 she studied at the “Vasile Lupu” Normal School in Orhei, teaching at primary school; during 1997-2002 she studied Romanian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Letters of the State University of Moldova. Between 2002-2006, she was doing doctoral studies, the Institute of Educational Sciences and in 2008 she defended her doctoral thesis in pedagogy with the theme The Novel “ Frații Jderi” by Mihail Sadoveanu as Model of Permanent Education, specialty 13.00.01 General Pedagogy. During 2008-2010, she was doing Master studies in the General Pedagogy Programme, Institute of Educational Sciences.

Over the years, she worked as a teacher of Romanian Language and Literature, of which: 1996 – 1999 in Theological-Monastic Seminary from the village of Curchi, the district of Orhei; in the years 1999 – 2004 in the gymnasium “Mihai Eminescu” in the city of Orhei; in the years 2003-2008 in the College of Medicine in the city of Orhei; in the years 2007-2013 part-time at the Pedagogical College “Vasile Lupu” in Orhei.

Since 2008 she started her activity as a university lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and General Psychology. She taught the Bachelor courses: Pedagogy, Psychology, Professional Ethics, Educational Technologies, and the Master degree ones: Pedagogy of Higher Education, Basics of Communication and Language Development, Social Pedagogy, Fundamentals of Education Theory, Competence and Managerial Competence, Research Methodology. In 2009 she defended the higher didactic degree in discipline teaching or the Romanian Language and Literature. In 2012 she became an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and General Psychology.

From 01.03.2017 she becomes head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

She was a member of the attestation commission of the teachers from the Medical College from Orhei and the Polytechnic College of the Technical University; president of the State Examination at the Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” in the town of Chișinău and the State University “Gr. Țamblac” in the town of Taraclia; editor-coordinator of the magazine Modern Kindergarten: Journal of early and preschool education in the Republic of Moldova. She specialized in the National Curriculum: Primary Education, 2018 and the Methodology on the Implementation of Criteria Evaluation by Descriptors (2015, 2017, 2018). She was an evaluator of the External Evaluation Commission in order to accredit intra-mural continuing vocational training programmes Pedagogy in Primary Education, Preschool Pedagogy in the high-education institution State Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” in Chișinău and evaluator of textbooks in the Romanian Language and Literature for primary classes.

She is an author of a discipline curriculum in the Romanian Language and Literature for high school level; national trainer for continuous professional training courses, member of the Doctoral School “Educational Sciences” of the Partnership of higher education institutions of Tiraspol State University in Chișinău, State University “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” of Cahul and the Institute of Education Sciences and legally qualified doctoral supervisor, Specialty: 531.01. General Theory of Education; and 533.01. University Pedagogy.

She is currently the leader of the project Innovation of the national system for evaluating school results from the perspective of the competences paradigm, Strategic Priority IV: Societal challenges registered in the State Register of projects in the field of science and innovation.

She teaches Bachelor’s degree disciplines: Pedagogical Ethics, Modern Training Technologies, Classroom Management, Criterion Evaluation by Descriptors and Master degree disciplines: Theories and Methodologies Advanced in Private Teaching (Language and Communication), Methodology of Criterion Evaluation by Descriptors, Psycho-pedagogy Managerial Success, General Fundamentals of Training.

She has participated in national and international conferences as a moderator and with communications. She managed to publish over 130 papers, the most important of which are the following:

Victoria GUTU-COJOCARU, PhD, University Professor

She is born on July 18, 1951 in the village of Țaul, the district of Dondușeni.

Education: She graduated from the College of Medicine in Chișinău (1970); Faculty of Pedagogy and Preschool Psychology of the State University “Alecu Russo” in Balți (1977).

She defended her doctorate in Pedagogy at Moscow Pedagogical University and obtained the scientific title of Doctor in Pedagogy (1991). Thesis topic “Взаимосвязь подготовки и повышения квалификации организаторов дошкольного воспитания” (Interconnection of training and training of preschool education organizers) was under the guidance of the scientific leader Vitalie Slastenin. She worked at the State University “Alecu Russo” in Balți during 1987-1997. In 2010 she defended her doctoral thesis in Pedagogical Sciences ― the topic of the thesis “Theory and Methodology of Innovation Transfer in Higher Education”.

Didactic-scientific experience: methodologist, director of kindergarten no. 39 in Balți municipality. She worked at the State University “Alecu Russo” in Balți. In 1997 she was transferred to the Ministry of Education and Science as head of department. Later she held positions as a deputy head of the International Relations and Student Exchange Department, deputy minister of the Ministry of Education and Science, scientific secretary of the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development, head of the General Policy Directorate in the Field of Science and Innovation within the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, rector at the University of European Political and Economic Studies “Constantin Stere”, Professor at Tiraspol State University with headquarters in Chișinău.

Scientific interests: educational management, project management, human resources management, managerial psychology, didactics or educational theory, management in the field of research and development, lifelong learning, management in social assistance.

She participated in a series of international scientific meetings (Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Ireland, Austria, Israel, Sweden, Spain, Greece, Malaysia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, etc.). She is a member of the Doctoral School “Education Sciences” of the partnership of higher education institutions Tiraspol State University, “Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu” State University of Cahul and the Institute of Education Sciences.

She contributed to the training of doctoral students, scientifically supervised 6 Doctors in Pedagogical Sciences, 2 Doctors in Preschool Education.

She is a member of the Scientific Profile Seminar within: “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University and Tiraspol State University, president, official referent, member of the Specialized Scientific Council for defending doctoral theses, Dr. Habil. in Pedagogical Sciences and member of the commission of experts of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, and National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research.

Project participation experiences: Participator in scientific events, including conferences, symposiums, and several national and international projects; coordinator of the Tempus Visitors program in SCM To47.

Publications: over 130 studies and articles, 10 monographs, multiple course materials and scientific-methodological papers.

Larisa ŞOFRON, PhD, Associate Professor

Larisa ŞOFRON was born on October 21, 1952 in the village of Solonet, the district of Soroca. After graduating from high school in Orhei, she studied at the State Pedagogical Institute „T. G. Shevchenko” from Tiraspol (1970–1975) and graduated from with honours. She began her pedagogical career as an educator, then as deputy director for education in the secondary school from the village of Biserica Alba, the district of Rahov, Transcarpathian region (1975–1988). From 1989 to 2002 she worked as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Pedagogy. In 2002 she obtained the scientific title of Doctor in Pedagogy, defending the thesis “Pedagogical Foundations of Conflict Resolution Skills in The Process of Teacher Training”, and in 2004 – the scientific-didactic title of Associate Professor. She also holds the first degree for management and is a member of the Scientific Profile Seminar .

She teaches the courses General Basics of Pedagogy, Theory and Methodology of Education, Theory and Methodology of Training, Theory and Methodology of Psycho-pedagogical Research, Theory and Methodology of Educational Work, Culture of Pedagogical Communication, Conflictology, Conflict Management, Educational Management.

In the context of the partnership relations with the pre-university institutions, Mrs. Larisa Sofron contributes to ensuring collaboration with the Theoretical High School “Orizont”. In this regard, in recent years, she has organized three national scientific-practical conferences with international participation attended by several scientists from different countries. She organized seminars, round tables in order to disseminate professional experience, promote educational values. As a result of the partnership, the Methodological Guide on Student Moral Education is published.

Petru GUZUN, Senior University Lecturer

Originated from the town of Chișinău, born on September 18, 1964, after graduating from high school (1981), Petru GUZUN studied at the vocational school no. 5 and graduated from with honours. In 1982 he was enrolled at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of State Pedagogical Institute “Ion Creangă” in Chișinău specializing in Linear Drawing and Work,. During 1984-1986 he did his military service in the town of Petrozavodsk, after which he returned, already to the reorganized faculty and named Fine Arts within the State Pedagogical Institute “Ion Creangă” from Chișinău. In 1989, after successfully completing the diploma thesis “Book Graphics (Illustration of M. Eminescu’s Lyrics)”, he was assigned to the position of young specialist at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the State Pedagogical Institute “T. G. Shevchenko” in Tiraspol. Thus, during 1989-1993 he held the position of assistant lecturer, and from 1993 until 2011 he worked as a senior university lecturer and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy. During the years of activity at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education he developed and taught courses such as Basics of Fine Arts and Methodology of Teaching Fine Arts, Artistic Writing Technique (optional course), Student Class Management.

In 2004 he supervised the interest circle “Creativity and design” and the Little Academy “Viitorul”; participated in the exhibition inside the Resource Centre of non-governmental organizations for human rights (CREDO) with the works “Forest-Little Forest” (oil-canvas, 75×56); “Homage” (oil-canvas, 96×74); “The Guardian Angel” (75×60); “Farewell” / after M. Eminescu / (60×45); “Composition” (oil-canvas, 55×75); “Spring” (oil-canvas, 75×56); “And if …” (oil-canvas, 75×60); “Autumn landscape” (oil-canvas, 40×30); “Dream” (oil-canvas, 90×90);

He participated with his art works in exhibitions in the Netherlands and Romania (Bacău). Currently, at the church of St. Nicholas in Chișinău and the one in the village of Sucleea (Transnistria), are exposed icon-paintings of Mr. Petru Guzun.

On September 14, 2014, the lecturer passed away.

Eugenia BURLEA

Eugenia BURLEA was born on April 19, 1947, in the village of Pivniceni, the district of Donduseni. After graduating from the high school (1964) in the village of Grinăuţi-Moldova, the district of Ocnița, she successfully studied at the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry of the State Pedagogical Institute “T. G. Shevchenko” in Tiraspol (1965-1970). During 1969–1971 she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Botany, then (1971-1986) at the departments of Zoology and Chemistry. In 1986-1991 she was a methodologist in the extra-mural department. Since 1989 she works as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, and from the year 1990 she held the position of senior lecturer at the department up to 2017. Over the years she has taught the courses Theory of Instruction, Educational Work in Primary Classes, School Management, Theory and Methodology of Sciences, Nature Protection, Classroom Management (optional course), Curriculum Theory (optional course). She also was the superviser of the psycho-pedagogical internships.

Tamara MUNTEANU, PhD, University Lecturer

MUNTEANU Tamara, Dr in Pedagogical Sciences, university lecturer, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, born on December 11, 1976 in the village of Mingir, the district of Hîncești.

In 1993 she graduated from the high school in her native village, after which she studied at Faculty of Pedagogy of Tiraspol State University, specialty Pedagogy of Primary Education and Preschool Pedagogy.

        In 2002 she was hired as a teacher at the kindergarten no. 188 in Chișinău. Since August 2003, she would be working as a senior laboratory fellow at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of Tiraspol State University. During 2002–2004 she studied for a Master degree in Psycho-pedagogy. In 2005 she was hired as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, carrying out teaching activities in the discipline Theory and Methodology of the Romanian Language and Literature. In 2006 she initiated the optional course Methodology of Calligraphic Writing, taught at the undergraduate level of studies. Between 2008 and 2011 she is pursuing postgraduate studies by doctorate at Tiraspol State University, specialty 13.00.01, General Pedagogy.

       From the academic year 2011-2012 she conducts classes (seminars) in the optional course Strategies for Training and Development of Learning Attitudes in Young School Age Students. During this period, she developed courses and syllabi in the disciplines Theory and Methodology of Romanian Language and Literature, Methodology of Calligraphic Writing, and Pedagogical Practice in School. Since 2009 she is also the scientific coordinator of Bachelor degree theses.

       Since September 2011, she has been appointed as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy. In 2012, she was employed as senior lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy. As a mentor of the student groups and Deputy Dean, she organizes and performs with the students various educational manifestations, cultural activities, contests, festivities in connection with various holidays and events.

Her scientific contribution is reflected in over 30 scientific-methodological papers and participation in national and international conferences. In 2019 she defends her doctoral thesis in Pedagogical Sciences with the topic “Formation of Moral Attitudes in Children within the Family”, specialty 531.01. General Theory of Education.

Alexandru BORŞ, PhD, Associate Professor

BORŞ Alexandru was born on September 26, 1952, in the village of Condrăteşti, the district of Ungheni. He graduated from the 8-year-old school in his home locality in 1967. He continued his studies at the Pedagogical School in Calarași, which he graduated from in 1971. In the same year he was admitted to studies at the State Pedagogical Institute “Alecu Russo” in Balți. In 1976 he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Pedagogy, specializing in pedagogy and the methodology of primary education and singing. He started his pedagogical career at the Pedagogical School in the town of Lipcani as a teacher of instrumental music. From 1976 to 1977 he did military service in a regimental orchestra of the regiment deployed in the Republic of Udmurtia, part of the Russian Federation. During 1978-1983, he carried out his pedagogical activity as a music leader at the Children’s and Adolescents’ Creation House in Fălești and as a teacher of music education at the secondary school in the village of Navîneţ of the same district. In 1983 he was employed by competition as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education within the State Pedagogical Institute “Alecu Russo”. He taught the following subjects: Methodology of Music Education at the Primary Stage of Education and Instrumental Music Training.

Between 1988 and 1991, he studied for a special purpose doctoral degree at the Russian Academy of Education in Moscow. In 1992 he defended his scientific thesis with the theme “Aesthetic Education against Natural Phenomena in the Musical Activities of Primary School Students”, bringing him the scientific title of Doctor in Pedagogy, speciality Theory and Methodology of Education.

During the years 1992-1998 he works as a principal specialist in the field of musical-artistic education from preschool to high school within the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova. From 1998 to 2011 he was employed at the Institute of Educational Sciences. In 2000 he was awarded the scientific-didactic title of Associate Professor. Within the Institute of Education Sciences he holds the following positions: Associate Professor at the Department of Social, Artistic and Technological Education, and head of the Sector of Arts, Physical and Technological Education. At the same time, he carries out the continuous professional training of the teachers, teachers of artistic disciplines in the schools and extracurricular education units from the republic. The research conducted within the sector had as theme “The Praxiological Approach to the Process of Training Students’ Skills in the Disciplines Music Education, Technology Education, Physical Education”.

From 2012-2019 he carries out his scientific-didactic activity at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of Tiraspol State University with headquarters in Chişinău as an Associate Professor. The taught courses are Theory and Methodology of Music Education, Non-Formal Music Education.

He is the author and co-author of over 60 scientific-didactic publications. Among the most significant are The Concept of Music Education in Pre-University Education, Music Education Curriculum for Primary and Secondary Education, Music Education textbooks and Methodological Implementation Guides for Grades I – VIII in Romanian and Russian.

Natalia MACRIŢCHI, PhD, Associate Professor

MACRIŢCHI Natalia was born on August 10, 1963, in the city of Cahul. After graduating from high school in her hometown, during the years 1980-1985 she was a student at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Pedagogical Institute „T. Gr. Shevchenko” in the city of Tiraspol. She began her professional career at the Pedagogical College “A. S. Macarenco” in Cahul, where, during 1985-1990, she worked as a Physics teacher and, during 1990-2006, as a Mathematics teacher. In 2006 she defended her doctoral thesis in Pedagogy at the specialty 13.00.02 “The Optimal Correlation between Intuitive and Logical in Teaching-Learning-Evaluating the Topic “Parallelism and Perpendicularity in Space “(Gymnasium)”. During 2006-2010 she was employed at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics and the Department of Psychopedagogy. In the years 2006-2007 she held the position of Head of Studies Section; Head of Mathematics Department; 2007-2009 was appointed as a Vice-Rector for teaching and quality activity at the State University “B. P. Hasdeu” in Cahul.

In 2008 she was awarded the title of Associate Professor. During the years 2009-2010 she was employed as a Director of the Regional Centre for Continuing Education in Cahul. In the years 2010-2011 she worked as a teacher in high school classes with a real profile at the Theoretical High School “Truşeni”. Since 2011 she is a member of the Scientific Seminar in the Council for the Defence of Doctoral Theses D 36 -13.00.02 – 26.02.04 at Tiraspol State University with headquarters in Chișinău.

In 2011-2013 she was employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of Tiraspol State University with headquarters in Chișinău to teach the specialized disciplines Theory and Methodology of Mathematics in Primary Education; Heuristic Methods for Solving Problems in the Primary Cycle; Theories and Advanced Methods in Special Didactics (Mathematics and Science); Algorithmic Strategies for Solving Problems of Mathematics in the Primary Cycle; Current Problems of Preschool Education Methodology. She has 60 publications, including a textbook for high school; guide for high school teachers; collection of questions, exercises and problems; initial, formative and summative assessment tests; co-author of course notes in Geometry; articles published in the materials of national and international scientific and scientific-methodological conferences.

Ion ŢÂGULEA, PhD, Associate Professor

ŢÂGULEA Ion was born in 1953. In 1970 he graduated from high school no. 2 of the town Nisporeni. In the years 1970–1975 he studied at university and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the State Pedagogical University “A.I. Ghertzen” in St. Petersburg. She carried out his professional activity during 1976-1983 as a teacher at the School of Fine Arts for Children in Nisporeni. In the years 1984-2001 he was an employee at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” in Chișinău. In 1997 he defended his doctoral thesis in Fine Arts Pedagogy at this university. Since 2001, he would lead the Department of Design of the private university “Univers-Moldova” in Chişinău, obtaining the teaching title of Associate Professor. In 2005 he became head of the Department of Design at Free International University. Over the years he was invited chairman of the State Undergraduate Examination Boards at Real-Humanistic University of Cahul.

During 2014-2018 he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy and taught the courses Pedagogical Ethics, Teaching Technologies; Methodology of Teaching Fine Arts; Artistic Writing Technique, etc.

As scientific-creative directions of his activity there could be mentioned the following: pedagogy of plastic arts, technology of artistic-plastic education, theory of fine arts and design; easel painting; graphics, and sculpture. Also into these the scientific publications that are around 70 are oriented, among them it can be mentioned the series “Technology of Artistic-Plastic Education” – 12 volumes; around 30 participations into national and international symposia and conferences. He has participated in exhibitions of fine arts and design at district and national level.

Valentin CONSTANTINOV, Dr. Habil., Associate Professor

CONSTANTINOV Valentin was born on February 2, 1971, in the village of Crocmaz, the district  of Ștefan Vodă. In 1997 he graduated from the Faculty of History at the University “Al. I. Cuza” in Iași, Romania, and then in 1998 he takes his Master Degree Sources of Ancient and Medieval History at the same faculty. Also there in 2002 he completed his doctoral studies and defended the thesis. In 2010 he became an Associate Professor and in 2019 he defends the thesis of Dr. Habil. in History.

Work experience: since 2003 up to nowadays Mr Valentin Constantinov successfully combines the research activity (Principal Researcher) at the Institute of History and the teaching one (Associate Professor) at Tiraspol State University.

Alexandra NOUR, PhD, University lecturer

NOUR Alexandra, Dr in Pedagogical Sciences, university lecturer, born on June 23, 1971, in the village of Sireti, the district of Straseni.

In 1996 she graduated from the high school in her native village, after which she studied at the Pedagogical School “Nadejda Krupscaia” in Calarași, specializing in Primary Education. In 1990, after graduating from the Pedagogical School, she was hired as a teacher for the primary classes at secondary school no. 36 in Chișinău, nowadays “George Meniuc” Theoretical High School. Since 2012, she would be appointed Head of the Methodological Commission in Primary Education for “George Meniuc” Theoretical High School, where she works until now.

During 2005-2008 she was studying for a Bachelor degree, specializing in Primary Education Pedagogy, while during 2008-2010 she was studying for a Master in Education Sciences.

Since September 2010, she would work at Tiraspol State University as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education. From 2011 to 2015 she completed her postgraduate studies by doctorate at the same university in the specialty 531.01. General Theory of Education. In 2019 she defended the doctoral thesis in Pedagogical Sciences with the topic “Psycho-Pedagogical Bases for Forming Learning Attitudes through Individualization and Differentiation of Training”. Meanwhile in 2016 she was awarded the higher didactic degree for primary education.

She is a member of the Teacher Attestation Board at “George Meniuc” Theoretical High School and mentor for the young and new teachers in the institution.

As a university lecturer, she teaches the Bachelor degree disciplines Theory and Methodology of Mathematics in Primary Education, Heuristic Methods for Solving Problems and the Master degree disciplines Theories and Advanced Methodologies in Special Didactics of Mathematics. The scientific contribution is reflected in over 20 scientific-methodological papers and participations in national and international conferences.

Liliana POSȚAN, PhD, University lecturer

POSȚAN Liliana, Dr. in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, started her activity at Tiraspol State University in 2017, after gaining experience in the field of adult education and external evaluation of the quality of education at the Institute of Labour, State University of Moldova, National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research. Employed in the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, Ms. Liliana Posțan became the head of the course units Non-Formal Education, Intercultural Education, Family Pedagogy, Curriculum Theory, Theory of Training, Classroom Management, Professional Ethics, Theory and Practice of Adult Education.

Liliana Posțan originates from the village of Rediu Mare, the district of Donduseni. The professional option for Pedagogy is inherited from her mother, Tamara Posțan, a primary school teacher in her native village. After graduating in 1990 from the Faculty of the Romanian Language and Literature of the State University of Moldova, she worked as a scientific collaborator at “Dimitrie Cantemir” Museum of the Writers’ Union of Moldova, then as head of the Trade Union Education Department and Research at the Labour Institute.

In 2007 she defended her doctoral thesis in Pedagogy on “Motivation of Adult Learning from the Perspective of Lifelong Learning” and began teaching at the State University of Moldova, developing the course units of Adult Education and Theories of Grown-up Learning.

Since 2014 she is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research. Within this activity she participated in the elaboration of the Regulation on the Organization and Functioning of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education, approved by Government Decision no. 199 of April 22, 2015, of the Methodology for External Quality Assessment for Temporary Operation and Accreditation of Study Programs and Institutions of Technical, Higher and Continuing Vocational Education, approved by Government Decision no. 616 of 18.05.2016. Also, during 2014-2018, she participated in the process of external evaluation of training programmes.

Since 2018 she is secretary of the Sectoral Committee for professional training in trade, hotels and restaurants and member of the National Council for Qualifications.

During her professional activity, Liliana Posțan contributed to the normative and curricular assurance of the processes of continuous training and adult education. She is a trainer who promotes the values ​​of non-formal education and lifelong learning, and author and co-author of over 60 scientific-didactic publications, among the most significant being: Didactics for Adults from a Motivational Perspective (Chișinău, 2007), Non-formal Education for Regional Democratic Transformations (Kiev, 2012),

Elena VINNICENCO, PhD, University lecturer

VINNICENCO Elena, Dr in Pedagogy, Associate Professor was born on May 21, 1972, in the city of Chișinău, Republic of Moldova.

In 1989 she graduated from high school no. 1 in Chișinău. In 1989-1991 she worked as a laboratory technician at the Methodologist Cabinet of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Moldova. In the years 1991-1996 she studied at the “Al.I.Cuza” University of Iași, Romania, Faculty of Philosophy, field of socio-psycho-pedagogy, specialty Pedagogy.

During 1996-2008 she worked as a university lecturer at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă”. During this period, she carried out teaching-learning-evaluation activities, scientific research activities, scientific guidance activities of students within the Department of Primary Education Pedagogy. She developed and taught the courses Education Theory, Training Theory, Pedagogical Ethics, Conflictology, General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Correctional Pedagogy, Individual Study, Adult Education, and Technology of Extracurricular Activities.

In 2012 she obtained the title of Dr. in Pedagogy, defending the thesis “Integration of Modern Educational Technologies in Primary Education – a Condition for the Development and Formation of the Student’s Personality”.

During the years 2008-2018 she works as a university lecturer at the Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Psychology and Special Psycho-pedagogy. She developed and taught the courses General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Introduction into the Theory of Education, History of Pedagogy.

In the years 2015 – 2017 she carried out continuous training activities at the Faculty of Teaching and Management Staff Continuing Education of State Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” within the Leadership and Training program. During this period, she developed and taught the courses Educational Design, and Theory and Praxiology of Learning.

Since 2018, she has been employed as a university lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy in Tiraspol State University. She teaches the courses General Didactics, Modern Training Technologies, Curriculum Area Didactics, Theories and Advanced Methodologies in Special Didactics (Arts), Praxiological Aspects in Technological Education Didactics, Theory and Methodology of Technological Education, Theory and Methodology of Plastic Education.

In 2020, she became an Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of the Tiraspol State University. During her professional career the scientific contribution is reflected in numerous scientific-methodological works and participation in national and international conferences. She is the author and co-author of over 60 publications. Among the most significant ca be listed the monograph “Integration of Educational Technologies in Primary Education”, Methodological Guide “Educational Technologies in Primary Education: Practical Applications”, Implementation of the Teaching-Learning Framework Based on the Development of Critical Thinking in Primary Education.

Valentina FLUIERAR

FLUIERAR Valentina was born on December 18, 1976, in the village of Limanscoe, the district of Reni district, the region of Odessa. After graduating from the high school in her home-village, between 1991 and 1996, she studied at “Alexei Mateevici” Pedagogical College in Chișinău, specializing in Primary Education. She continued her studies in the field of Pedagogy in 2006 at the  Faculty of Pedagogy, specialty Psycho-pedagogy, of Tiraspol State University with headquarters in Chișinău, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor degree in Education Sciences. In 2008 she was employed as a senior laboratory fellow at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of Tiraspol State University where she has been working till now. During the years 2010-2012, she did her Master degree studies in Psycho-pedagogy of Pre-university Education at the Faculty of Pedagogy, being awarded upon graduation the Master degree in Education Sciences. In the period 2012-2016 she continues her education at postgraduate study level at the same university, specialty 13.00.01 General Pedagogy. Since 2013 she has been working as a university lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education teaching the disciplines General Basics of Pedagogy and Theory of Education. She has participated in 16 scientific-methodological conferences, has 23 articles published in scientific journals, popular science journals, materials of national and international conferences, symposiums and congresses.

Viorica OBOROCEANU

OBOROCEANU Viorica was born on April 25, 1976, in the city of Chișinău. In 1991 she graduated from high school in the village of Taraclia, the district of Causeni. In the period 1991-1995 she studied at the Pedagogical School in Bender. In 2000 she obtained the title of Bachelor in Pedagogy at the Faculty of Pedagogy, specialty Pedagogy of Primary Education and Preschool Education, of Tiraspol State University in Chișinău.

From August 2000, after the pedagogical practice, she started her professional activity as a teacher of the primary classes at “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra” Theoretical High School in Chișinău. Subsequently, she was appointed the head of the Methodological Board for Primary Classes; member of the Ethics Council; member of the Administration Board. Meanwhile she has obtained the superior teaching degree.

During 2007-2008 she did postgraduate studies at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Moldova (Chișinău), obtaining a Master’s degree in Management.

Since August 2017, she has been working part-time at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education of Tiraspol State University, carrying out teaching activities in the disciplines Theory and Methodology of Sciences in Primary Education, Theory and Methodology of Physical Education in Primary Education, Theory and Methodology of Mathematics in Primary Education and Heuristic Methods for Solving Problems. She is also scientific coordinator of Bachelor degree theses.

Between 2017 and 2020, she is pursuing postgraduate studies of doctorate at Tiraspol State University, specializing in 531.01 General Theory of Education while researching and capitalizing on the topic “Formation of Interpretive Attitudes in Primary School Students through Literary Texts”.

She organizes various educational events, cultural events, competitions, festivities related to various holidays and events for students, pupils and other guests.

The scientific contribution is shown in:

  • “Individualization of the Process of Learning to Read and Write in Children with Special Educational Needs” –  didactic support;
  • Numerous scientific-methodological papers published in national and international journals, and national and international conferences.

She was a moderator of methodological seminars, round tables and workshops organized in the institution and participated in national and international educational projects. She is the holder of the Diploma of gratitude for high mastery and substantial contribution in disseminating good practices and collaboration in the field of education, within the educational partnership – Faculty of Pedagogy, Tiraspol State University; Diploma of Excellence for the promotion of cultural values within the “Los Colores de la Danza” festival – “Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra” Theoretical High School, Chișinău; Diploma of Excellence Mentor for promoting an ecological environment and partnership in education, within the National Competition “Martisor Eco” organized by Romania’s General Association of Teachers, Branch of the Republic of Moldova, Honorary Diploma for pedagogical activity and considerable contribution in educational process – Râșcani district, Chișinău Municipal Council,.

Tatiana MIDRIGAN, University lecturer

MIDRIGAN Tatiana is originally from the village of Mitoc, the district of Orhei, born on November 18, 1981. In the period 1997-2002 she studied at “Vasile Lupu” Normal School in Orhei, the specialty Teacher for Primary School, then during 2003-2006 she studied at the Faculty of Pedagogy, specialty Pedagogy of primary education, of Tiraspol State University. During 2017-2019 she studied for Master Degree in Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education at the same university.

Over the years she has worked as a teacher for primary school in several educational institutions, namely: 2002-2006 at the Boarding School in Orhei; 2014-2015 at institution 199 in Chișinău; from 2015 up to nowadays at “Orizont” Theoretical High School.

From 2019 she starts her activity as a university lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

She has participated in national and international conferences with communications and managed to publish works, the most important of which are the following:

VI. Didactic activity

Currently, the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education provides initial vocational training in the field of Education Sciences in the study programmes for the undergraduate studies, i.e. Bachelor Degree: Pedagogy in Primary Education and English, Pedagogy in Primary and Pre-school Education, Pedagogy in Primary Education and Psycho-pedagogy, and Pedagogy in primary education (part-time); graduate studies, i.e. Master Degree: Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education, Innovation Management and Educational Entrepreneurship; Project Management in Educational and Research Organizations.

The staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education organize continuous training courses for teachers in the country in the Romanian and Russian languages ​​of instruction and are members of the Doctoral School. There are discussed the doctoral theses in education sciences in the specialties: 531.01. General Theory of Education and 533.01. University Pedagogy.

The methodological and scientific activity of university includes the editing of monographs, methodological guides, textbooks, course materials, compendiums and articles in journals.

In the framework of the research topic of the department for each year, the members of the department participate permanently in national and international scientific conferences with various communications and articles. The department collaborates not only with university teachers from higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova (Chișinău, Balți, Cahul, Comrat, Taraclia, etc.), but also Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, etc.), Russia (Moscow).

The department teachers perform academic mobility within the partnership agreements of Tiraspol State University with other higher education institutions, such as Pedagogical University of Kracow, Poland, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Iași, Romania, and University of Craiova, Romania. There were  lectured courses for students / professors of Tiraspol State University by Dr., Professor Cristea Sorin, University of Bucharest, Romania, and Dr., Associate Professor Bunăiașu Claudiu, University of Craiova, Romania. Also, undergraduate and graduate students benefited from academic mobility abroad, namely Domentean Rita and Midrigan Tatiana.

In the context of scientific research, the invited staff from outside contribute through their scientific-methodological work to the development and improvement of the department activity. Thus, Dr. Habil., University Professor Silistraru Nicolae, by researching the problems of ethno-pedagogy and pedagogy of higher education, enriches the list of courses developed at the department for the second cycle (Master Degree) with Intercultural Education and Ethno-pedagogy.

Constantinov Valentin, Dr. Habil., Associate Professor, is the author of over 100 publications: monographs, collections of documents, studies, articles, book presentations and reviews published in Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.

Likewise, the senior lecturer Şeptelici A., having a scientific interest in the topic “The Role of Activities Related to Stimulating Interest in Studying the Romanian Language and Literature”, contributed to quality assurance in the training of primary school specialists through her courses. Gorea S., university lecturer, Dr. in Pedagogical Sciences, investigated the topic “Didactic Communication as a Factor in the Formation of Communicative Skills in Students” and makes certain attempts to implement results from her investigation in teaching the courses “Culture of Pedagogical Communication” and “Pedagogical Ethics”.

Port Sergiu, Dr., Associate Professor, is the author of many papers in the field of Mathematics.

Experienced teachers are invited to lecture courses, namely, Nour Alexandra, superior teaching degree, Oboroceanu Viorica, first teaching degree, Plăcintă Daniela, first teaching degree, Cernei Olga, doctorate student, Midrigan Tatiana, doctorate student.

The staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education have rich and long experience in higher education, thus contributing considerably to the training of future specialists in the field of primary education in the Republic of Moldova to meet current requirements.
